Side Panel

The side panel allows you to quickly access your profiles and record macros. To open the side panel, right-click on the page and select Lightning Autofill → Side Panel.

Profiles

The default view displays a list of your profiles. Click on a profile to execute it. You can click on a profile’s menu icon (three vertical dots) to edit or delete it. The icons at the top allow you to filter your profiles and customize the side panel’s theme. The filter field accepts the following syntax:

• pattern – partial match (case insensitive)
• "pattern" – phrase match (case insensitive)
• /pattern/flags – regex match (case sensitive unless you use the i flag)

👇 NOTE

When you delete a profile from the side panel, all rules within that profile are also deleted. Be sure to back up your data often in case you accidentally delete a profile you didn’t mean to.

Macros

You can think of a macro as a set of autofill rules and actions saved to a profile. In this context, executing a macro is the same as executing a profile.

To record a macro, click the RECORD button at the bottom. When in recording mode, any actionable operations you perform on the web page will be converted into autofill rules and actions automagically. For example, if you enter text into an input field and click a button, a Text autofill rule will be generated, followed by a CLICK action. If there’s a step you want to remove, click the trash icon to delete it. Click the STOP button when you’re done, and Lightning Autofill will prompt you to save the rules to an existing or new profile. You can click the “×” icon or press the Esc key to cancel recording at any time.
